04 Oct Josh Stevens Elementary School celebrates Week of Respect
On Oct. 2, students and staff at Josh Stevens Elementary School kicked off Week of Respect, which celebrates diversity and reminds students, parents, educators and community members that everyone plays a role in creating and maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment, free from bullying and cyberbullying. First-grade students created a giant heart made of ribbons on the playground fence. Counselor Amanda Cruse offered remarks on Week of Respect and what it means, and the Firecrackers Cheer Team made an appearance.
All this week, students, staff and community members throughout Clark County are asked to show their support via social media by using the hashtag #CCSDGetYourBlueOn. Additionally, in collaboration with CCSD, the Las Vegas City Hall is keeping its lights blue every evening to celebrate the Week of Respect.
